Our Engagement Story
When Adam and I talked about engagement, one of the first things that came up in conversation was how important it was for me to find a piece that not only spoke to my heart but to my standards as well. Thoughts I contemplated included, were the conditions and wages fair for miners? Where was the mining taking place? Could I trust who I was purchasing from to have the same level of ethics as me? Does this even exist in the modern jewelry market?
Upon researching the market, my answer was yes! There are, in fact, retailers that sell pieces that are made with a conscious mindset. When choosing a piece of jewelry that is sourced this way you can eliminate poverty, environmental damage, and elevate safe mining practices and fair wages.
When making my final, I do's for the rings my must haves were, Romantic and Fantasy style ring. Recycled gold and ethical gems. Fair working conditions and wages. A designer that spoke to me with a loving and unique creative process.
I present to you the rings of my dreams The Mood Tear Ring by Sofia Zakia.
This beauty shines in 14K gold and is customized with a 5mm sapphire that shines like the moon. Eight natural diamonds twinkle in its romantic settling that curve and delight in a mystical nature.
Sofia's work truly captivated the essence of mystical, celestial, romantic, and strikingly swoon-worthy pieces. I am forever grateful for this beautiful piece as a reminder for all the beauty and love in our lives.
Adam proposed on May 19, 2019. On one knee where the two waves meet at Good Harbor Beach in Massachusetts. I said, " Oh my gosh it's beautiful! And yes, of course, I will marry you." And happily placed the ring on my finger, Adam laughs at this because it is so like to me go ahead do the honors for myself. I was too excited and already in love with my ring and the adventures that were awaiting us.
The next exciting step will be creating our wedding bands. Which will be taking place in the next coming months as we soak up all the love and excitement that awaits us.
